Authority Identification is a problem about identifying authoritative documents in a given domain. Authoritative documents are ones which exhibit novel and relevant information relative to a document collection while demonstrating domain knowledge.

Identifying such documents would be helpful in summarizing the information present in the collection while discarding redundant or spurious information, like filtering relevant and informative reviews in a review site or identifying best solution in question answering websites.
