This is a review of Cohen_2000_whirl_a_word_based_information_representation_language by user:Bbd.

This paper introduces WHIRL, an "information representation language" which generalizes both ranked retrieval of documents and logical deduction. It combines notion of similarity with logical deduction. WHIRL produces ranked list of results based on extent to which similarity constraints are satisfied.

paper nicely describes various applications of WHIRL in real world senarios like integrating information extracted from multiple web sites. It also infer the missing data with better accuracy than then existing systems.
