This is a review of the paper Sutton_2004_collective_segmentation_and_labeling_of_distant_entities_in_information_extraction by user:Suranah.

This paper introduces the skip chain CRFs and evaluates it on a standard dataset. Besides the transition and emission factors, the model now tries to learn skip factors. The method was evaluated for extraction on speaker announcements where skip chain CRFs show some improvement for the speaker field recognition, but there is a loss of accuracy for other fields.
