This is a review of Cohen_2003_a_comparison_of_string_distance_metrics_for_name_matching_tasks by user:Nlao.

Most previous name matching systems heavily leverages domain knowledge by representing instances as feature vectors. This work provides a knowledge light framework, which does not assume domain knowledge and reprsent instances as original strings.

This work nicely compares a wide range of string matching technologies.
