- Who am I?
- I am a second year master student in the software engineering program. (There may not be a direct relationship between software engineering and machine learning, is there? LOL)
- What do I hope to get out of the class?
- Everyone, consciously or unconsciously, is influenced by social media nowadays.
It must be very interesting in understanding the mechanisms, disciplines and methods underneath.
Guided by Professor William and using the methods in machine learning, I am pretty sure that we can output some interesting results on different social medias thus understand ourselves better.
- What kind project would I like to do?
- Based on a social media data set with pretty well(disjoint) categories, build a classifier to classify unlabeled document.
The data set is text based.
The classifier can be built based on a bunch of classifiers, each of which only say yes or no to one particular category.
- Related project?
- Summer independent study on verifying the classifier mentioned in the previous section.
